We are Tauranga’s premier football club, based in the heart of the Mount, where we’ve been serving our community since 1964.
At TCAFC, we are community-focused and deeply passionate about ensuring that everyone—regardless of age, gender, or ability—has the opportunity to play, coach, referee, and support the beautiful game. We believe football is more than a sport; it is a vehicle for personal growth, fostering social connection, confidence, leadership, and positive learning habits.
Our clubrooms are located at Links Avenue Reserve, with additional match venues at Ocean Downs Reserve and Macville Park. We are especially proud to offer our members use of the Bay of Plenty’s first dedicated state-of-the-art artificial turf, opened in 2025 to benefit our players and the wider football community.
The winter season runs from March to September, with pre-season training beginning in late January for our Premier teams and February for all other grades. For more information and the latest updates, check out our FAQ Page and follow our social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
Our Mini Blues programme is the perfect introduction to football, providing a fun, engaging, and safe environment for our youngest players to fall in love with the beautiful game.
Designed specifically for early development, the programme focuses on building basic skills and confidence through play-based learning and discovery.
Mini Blues participate in small-sided games held every Saturday morning, ensuring plenty of touches on the ball and maximum involvement for every child.
To keep things simple for busy families, there are no required midweek team trainings; however, for those keen for extra time on the pitch, our Skills Hub offers additional development opportunities.
The Winter Season runs through Terms 2 and 3.
Junior Football (Ages 8–13): Whether moving up from Mini Blues or starting fresh, this is the key stage for skill development. Teams train midweek and play Saturdays.
Youth Football (Ages 14–19): We offer teams for all players and training is set by coaches once teams are formed, with games played on Saturdays.
Our Academy teams are operated by FC Tauranga Moana, the leading Academy in the Bay of Plenty with a Youth Development Partnership with Auckland FC.
For players seeking extra development, our Skills Hub offers year-round programmes for ages 4–13, led by qualified coaches to complement team practices.
We’ve got you covered with Men’s and Women’s teams entered in every WaiBOP Bay League. Teams train during the week and compete against clubs across the Bay of Plenty on Saturdays. We currently have entries in Men’s Bay 1, 2, 3, and Over 35s, as well as Women's W-League and Women’s Bay 1.
Registrations open in January, with pre-season typically kicking off in mid-February and the official season starting in early April.
For players looking for a more social experience, our Sunday Relics also train midweek and play every second Sunday.
Our Men’s First Team is the only WaiBOP representative in the Northern Regional Phase of the National League, competing weekly against the country's elite. The top four teams from this league progress to the National League Championship phase. Playing in parallel is our U23 Men’s Reserves, a high-level environment that also allows for over-age players. If you are interested in joining either of these squads, please email [email protected].
Our Women’s First and Reserve sides compete in the NRFL Premiership, widely regarded as the top women's league in the country. These premier teams are part of Te Ara Wāhine, a Tauranga wāhine youth and senior football collaboration supported by WaiBOP.
