In this grade, the pitch size increases to help players develop spatial awareness. At this level, teams play in WaiBOP-facilitated leagues, introducing more tactical elements like the offside rule via the retreating line.
Academy Teams
Our Academy Teams are operated by FC Tauranga Moana and compete in different leagues to
📅 SEASON INFORMATION
Starts: First Saturday of Term 2
When: Saturday mornings (Term 2 & 3) from 9:00 AM.
Home Ground: Links Ave Reserve (away games at opposition grounds).
Format: 7v7, including a goalkeeper.
Ball Size: Size 4
Offsides: In effect from the retreating line (30% of the field from the goal line).
Substitutions: Rolling substitutes are used.
Results: Recorded for grading purposes only; no formal league tables.

Fixtures: Available on the WaiBOP website.
Duration: 50 - 60 min (2 x 25-30 min halves)
